Kenny is as sweet and loving as they come. He is a gentle giant and quickly wins the heart of each person that he meets. He is stunning to look at, and walks majestically as he turns the heads of all who see him. Kenny is extremely intelligent, and easy to teach and train. He loves to play fetch, and would be an incredible hunting dog; he has quite a soft mouth and loves to carry soft stuffed animal toys everywhere he goes.

Kenny does carry RCD4. In case you are not familiar, RCD4 is a newer test and is somewhat controversial. Pawprint Genetics even states that dogs that test negative can still have rcd44 on another chromosome that has not been discovered. It is late onset blindness, at first in dim light, that can begin at about 7yrs and progressively may worsen. Kenny is a carrier but will never be affected. In fact those dogs that have two recessive genes that test positive are at higher risk but it doesn't mean they will definitely be symptomatic.
There are long time standard poodle breeders that will not test for this because they say standards do not get late onset blindness, or at least they have never seen it.
I did ask pawprint genetics if they felt I should neuter my sire. They said that I should not, because if everyone did that for any dog that is a carrier, it would dangerously narrow the gene pool.
